The Osprey Carbon Edition (CE) Spinning Reel is our lightest spinning reel to date. Starting at 6.5 oz with up to 24 lbs of Drag Capacity and 9 Ball Bearings (BB) + 2 Eco-Sealed Ball Bearings (ESBB), there is no other spinning reel like it in its class. The Osprey CE was dreamt up by our founders to fuel their obsession for sight fishing saltwater gamefish in super shallow water with artificial lures. The goal was to keep the best characteristics from the Osprey original series — like its smooth feel and incomparable drag system — and add more protection against saltwater while dropping the overall weight of the reel.
